Gary Prenevost, Senior Franchise Advisor heading up iFranchise Group’s Toronto, Canada office, has more than 25 years of experience in business development, career coaching, and franchising in Canada. Mr. Prenevost currently develops strategies for companies in Canada looking to franchise or grow their existing franchise programs. He also consults companies from outside territories interested in entering the Canadian market through franchising.

Starting his career in banking in 1980, Mr. Prenevost became a turn-around specialist for under-performing branches. In 1987, he embarked on an entrepreneurial career in his family’s business, where he helped build the commercial contract division through corporate sales and acquisitions of other companies.

After successfully growing the family business, Mr. Prenevost turned his attention to the franchising industry, where he has spent the last twenty years on all sides of the table; as franchisee, franchisor, master franchisee, and franchise consultant/broker.

Mr. Prenevost’s start in franchising was as a corporate sales executive for a national training organization. He eventually bought into the franchise system and became a top-performing franchise owner. During that time, he coached hundreds of entrepreneurs and business executives, helping them grow their businesses and implement management and/or sales development strategies. Mr. Prenevost built his business to achieve Top Five status out of the company’s 100+ offices, while simultaneously helping the parent company develop their national office network, eventually selling over 60 licenses for the company in Canada. In 1997, Mr. Prenevost took over the entire national organization, taking on the role of Vice President. His additional responsibilities included project management, training and coaching existing office owners, as well as driving corporate sales.

Realizing that his true passion lay in helping others achieve and exceed their life goals through living the entrepreneurial dream, in June of 2002 Mr. Prenevost launched FranNet of Southern Ontario, Canada. As a locally owned and operated branch of an internationally recognized franchise broker/matchmaking company that helps prospective franchisees identify, research and invest in the right franchise opportunity, his office is consistently among the Top Three in FranNet’s entire North American system.

A native of Ontario, Canada, Mr. Prenevost is a board member of the Canadian Franchise Association and regularly conducts seminars on franchising. He is a sought-after media source with a practical and friendly approach, who has both participated in and acted as certified trainer for numerous sales, management, and leadership training courses. He has also achieved a Certified Sales Professional designation (CSP) through the Canadian Professional Sales Association, and is a member of the Sandler Sales Institute President’s Club.
